Terms & Conditions

1. General Information

Twin Palms operates two accommodation locations on Thulusdhoo Island, North Malé Atoll, Maldives:

  • Twin Palms Surf House – our original location, a cozy surf lodge ideal for a laid-back island experience.

  • Twin Palms Beach House – our new beachfront property directly facing the surf break, offering premium accommodation.

In addition to accommodation, we offer surf lessons and activities in collaboration with the local surf school in Thulusdhoo.
All guests making a booking acknowledge that they have read and understood these Terms and Conditions.

2. Bookings & Reservations

  • Reservations can be made via our website, email, WhatsApp, Instagram, or third-party platforms such as Booking.com.

  • Deposit Policy: Deposit requirements may vary depending on the size, value, and duration of the booking. Twin Palms reserves the right to request a deposit at its discretion.

    • When a deposit is required, it will be 30% of the total booking amount.

    • The amount and payment details will be clearly communicated at the time of booking.

  • Guests must be at least 18 years old or accompanied by an adult.

  • Twin Palms reserves the right to refuse bookings at its discretion.

3. Payments

  • Cash on Arrival: This is the preferred payment method.

  • Credit Card: Accepted at the property. A 3.5% transaction fee will be applied to all credit card payments.

  • Bank Transfer: Payments can also be made in advance via bank transfer. All transfer fees must be covered by the guest.

  • All prices are in USD, unless stated otherwise.

  • All rates already include Maldivian GST (17%) and the Green Tax (USD 6 per person per night).

  • The remaining balance must be paid upon arrival at the property (unless settled in advance).

4. Cancellations & Refunds

  • More than 21 days (3 weeks) before arrival: Free cancellation. Any deposit paid will be fully refunded.

  • 21 days or less before arrival: Deposits are non-refundable. If no deposit has been paid, a 30% cancellation fee of the total booking amount will be charged.

  • No-shows: Full booking amount may be charged. In case of flight cancellations or force majeure, we will do our best to offer flexible rebooking options, but refunds are not guaranteed.

5. Surf Trips & Activities

  • All surf activities are subject to weather and ocean conditions and may be rescheduled for safety reasons.

  • Participation in surf trips, surf lessons, and excursions is at the guest’s own risk.

  • Twin Palms Surf House is not liable for injuries or accidents during surf activities.

  • Guests are responsible for their own travel and surf insurance.

6. Check-in / Check-out & House Rules

  • Check-in: from 12:00 PM

  • Check-out: by 10:30 AM

  • Guests are responsible for their personal belongings.

  • Smoking is not permitted inside the rooms.

  • Guests must respect other guests, staff, and local community.

  • Any damage to the property may be charged to the guest.

7. Liability

  • Twin Palms Surf House is not responsible for loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings.

  • We strongly recommend that guests have valid travel and medical insurance.

  • Twin Palms is not liable for delays, cancellations, or changes to travel plans due to weather, flight delays, or other external circumstances.

8. Media & Promotions

  • During surf sessions and activities, photos or videos may be taken for promotional purposes.

  • If you prefer not to appear in any content, please inform us upon arrival and we will fully respect your privacy.

9. Privacy Policy

  • We collect personal data (name, contact details, travel dates) solely for the purpose of managing reservations.

  • We do not share personal data with third parties, except when required to complete your booking (e.g., local authorities or payment providers).

  • All information is handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

10. Governing Law

  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Maldives. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Maldives.
